The design and architecture program at Orange Coast College takes advantage of the success achieved in the creation of its own campus from its early beginnings as a disused U.S. Army Air Base. The campus began life as a series of buildings reused after being abandoned by the U.S. Army following the end of hostilities during World War II and underwent extensive alterations under the guidance of esteemed architect, Richard Neutra in the 1950s.
